ABOUT THE PROGRAM

What Is the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government program that helps eligible Canadian residents access dental care they might otherwise not be able to afford. Administered by Sun Life and funded by Health Canada, the program covers a wide range of dental services from routine cleanings and exams to crowns, dentures, and even sedation.

Since its launch, over 6.5 million Canadians have enrolled in the plan. All age groups are now eligible, making this one of the most significant expansions of public dental coverage in Canadian history.

At Oakridge Park Dental, we are proud to be a registered CDCP provider serving families across Oakridge, Cambie, Marpole, and South Vancouver. We bill Sun Life directly so you never have to pay the full cost upfront for covered services.

ELIGIBILITY

Do You Qualify for the CDCP?

To be eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, you must meet all four of the following requirements.

No Private Dental Insurance

You do not have access to dental coverage through an employer, pension plan, professional organization, or purchased insurance plan.

Tax Returns Filed

You and your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable) have filed your Canadian tax returns so your family income can be assessed.

Income Under $90,000

Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000 per year. The amount of coverage you receive depends on your income tier.

Canadian Resident

You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes. All age groups are now eligible — children, adults, and seniors.
